During my years at Georiga Tech, I was a member of AKPsi which is a Business Fraternity. Among helping
my interview skills and business knowledge, I took on the task of
designing and building the fraternity website. Because such organizations typically have high memeber
turnover there isn't always someone that has programming skills, so I wanted to ensure that the website
would be usable into the future for even non-programmers. For this reason, I designed it with usability
in mind, giving everything a front-end and building an entire user permissions system that
controlled the different sections you can view when logged in. This was all done before 2005, and
five years later it's still up and running so I consider it a big success!
Attendance tracking and pardon submission/approval system
Individual section for pledges, brothers, and alumni with permission system
Email list functionality
Account creation and modification
Announcement functionality and front page editing
Inegrated Calendar for events
Picture gallery
Threaded Forum for memebers only
Uploading and display of resume for members
Tracking of member contributions and required activities
Most of these require you to be logged in to use, but a demo can be arranged if necessary.
At some point I might put up a clone site, but that would be a lot of work for a very old
project so I can't promise I'll get around to it ;)
